Our Programme
We aim to combine academic excellence with Islamic values to give learners both knowledge and character, setting them up for success in this world and the hereafter.
Our Curriculum
At SkySCHOOL, we are committed to providing a high-quality education that meets international standards. We are proud to follow the Pearson Edexcel curriculum, offering a comprehensive and rigorous programme from Year 1 through Year 11, culminating in the internationally recognised IGCSE qualifications. Our Islamic and Arabic education is taken from mainly from accepted books stemming from Madina and KSA to cater to the niche community who are seeking the correct knowledge.
A clear rationale defines the curriculum that provides learners with the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes to be successful in their lives as they progress through the phases of the school. The breadth and balance in the curriculum will allow learners to be global citizens and enhance their knowledge, skills and attitudes through innovation and critical thinking. The dynamic and forward-looking curriculum underpins the school mission and vision statements. It ensures that the quality of learning achieved by learners supports their personal development to become confident individuals and effective contributors to bring about positive social change. It will be innovative and linked to the global theme
Year 1 – 2 (Ages 5–7)
Comprises Years 1 and 2. Learners are facilitated in an environment that appreciates differences and backgrounds in an amiable and fostering atmosphere. Learners learn best when they actively contribute to the learning process. Subject areas include Islamic Studies, Arabic, English, Mathematics, Science, and Computing. Humanities and general subjects are integrated as part of cross-curricular studies.
Year 3 – 6 (Ages 7–11)
Learners in Years 3 to 6 are provided with suitable transition opportunities for the next phase of learning. Opportunities for independent and investigative activities support the development of improved cognitive skills. Implementing reading practices throughout the academic year is the aim for English; problem solving and inquiry-based learning is the focus of subjects like Math and Science. Values and positive attitude with social responsibility are encouraged through Islamic education, while digital citizenship and technological expertise are promoted through Computing. The curriculum progresses through the key stages with the learner at the center. Evaluation of assessment outcomes and close monitoring of attainment trends will guide curriculum continuity. Academic leaders monitor, evaluate, and collaborate in each phase to ensure that knowledge, skills, and understanding for each subject are progressive and updated regularly.
Year 7 – 9 (Ages 11–14)
Our secondary school learners (Years 7 to 9) are prudently guided to build the confidence and preparedness needed for life in the 21st century. Our interactive and engaging lessons continue in KS3 with subject specialist educators delivering a curriculum that develops learners’ independent learning skills. Upon entering KS3, learners continue the subjects they studied in KS2 and may also explore other subjects on offer from Year 7. By the completion of Year 9, they will have discovered which subjects they would like to study at IGCSE level. Learners will have developed high proficiency in speaking and writing English, giving them the tools for effective communication at high standards, aiding in all specialist subjects. They are encouraged to think critically and have the emotional well-being to respect and be respected in society.
Year 10 – 11 (Ages 14–16)
Learners progressing to Years 10 and 11 are holistically supported as they work toward the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), usually taken at the end of Year 11. Core subjects are offered as a natural progression from KS3, for which learners have been prepared. Subjects include Maths, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Business Studies, Accounting, and Economics. Specialist subjects Arabic and Islam are offered according to learner demand. By this stage of the educational journey, independent study and a sense of personal responsibility and accountability are emphasised. Educators provide guidance and tools to help learners set up a balanced study schedule both during and outside live sessions. Learners will sit for their IGCSE exams with the Pearson Edexcel Examination Board (and the Cambridge board for specified subjects).
Curriculum Subjects
Islamic Studies
Our main objective is to reinforce and instill in learners the belief in Allah and worship Him alone. We aim to develop faith through emotional, mental, and psychological growth that consolidates God-consciousness and obedience to His Messenger (peace be upon him). This subject plays a key role in building the spiritual and moral aspects of the learner’s character, creating a foundation for positively engaging with society and contributing to its advancement. Our Islamic Studies programme educates learners about the fundamentals of Islamic knowledge and enables them to implement that knowledge properly in their lives. These fundamental aspects include: Aqeedah, Fiqh, Islamic morals, the Prophet’s biography (Seerah), Qur’an recitation, Tajweed, and Tafseer.
Arabic
Arabic is the language of the Qur’an and one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. It is very important to learn and explore the language in order to understand the word of Allah better and ponder upon its meanings; therefore, teaching and learning the Arabic language holds an integral place at SkySCHOOL online. The Arabic curriculum is developed with consideration of cultural and social contexts and focuses on global and intercultural understanding. The curriculum for non-native learners is differentiated within each year group to ensure appropriate support is provided for each learner. We focus on development in the four primary language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing in a relaxed, fun, and engaging atmosphere. We use a variety of teaching and learning styles in Arabic lessons, including repetition, educational websites, ICT, group work, pair work, discussions, interactive activities, games, drama, art and crafts.
English
Our carefully selected texts are linked with the relevant Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar (SPaG) and writing activities to develop and enhance our learners’ differentiated skills. All skills are continuously integrated, forming an understanding of the wholesomeness of the National Curriculum.
Reading
From developing our KS1 learners in GPC (Grapheme-Phoneme Correspondence) to confident, fluent readers with sound comprehension, reading is prioritised to enhance our learners’ abilities across all skills. We embark upon exploring a variety of texts and genres.
Maths
Promoting enjoyable, interactive daily lessons while meeting the objectives of the National Curriculum, we develop confidence in our learners. In Maths we foster the ability to use, interpret, and communicate mathematical information to solve real-world problems. This includes understanding basic maths operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) which form the core needed to branch into all other aspects of mathematics
Science
Our topic-based Science curriculum is specially designed and formulated for delivering interactive, exciting lessons, incorporating regular practical experiments. We ignite the young minds of our pupils by challenging and encouraging them in making scientific predictions and explanations. By consistently continuing our cross-curricular themes, our learners delve into a creative and stimulating arena to acquire knowledge of scientific concepts. When learners enter Secondary School, Combined Science is taught as three separate subjects: Physics, Biology, and Chemistry.
Business Studies
Develops an interest in and enthusiasm for the study of business. Learners develop an understanding of business concepts, terminology, objectives, and the integrated nature of business activity. They understand how the main types of businesses are organized, financed, and operated. Learners develop and apply knowledge, understanding, and skills to contemporary business issues in a wide range of businesses, from small enterprises to large multinationals, operating in local, national, and global contexts. They also develop critical-thinking and inquiry skills to distinguish between facts and opinion, calculate, interpret and evaluate business data, build arguments, and make informed judgments. Additionally, they gain an understanding of the dynamics of business activity and the related considerations of ethics and sustainability in global business.
Accounting
Accounting is the process of identifying, measuring, and communicating economic information to permit informed judgments and decisions by users of that information. It involves concepts and standards in bookkeeping and preparing financial statements in a global context. The ability to interpret information and make decisions is an important aspect of accounting. Consistency and ethical codes of conduct are required in accounting. The study includes developing skills in applying concepts, performing calculations, using standard formats, preparing statements, and interpreting those statements.
Wellbeing
Well-Being is a major part of our school’s ethos, focusing on the holistic growth of learners—spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical. Grounded in Islamic values such as ihsan (excellence), gratitude, and mindfulness, our well-being sessions encourage reflection, balance, and a strong sense of purpose. Alongside spiritual and personal development, students engage in physical exercises and activities that promote health, energy, and resilience, ensuring a well-rounded approach to their overall growth.
Skill Building
Skill Building integrates creativity with STEM learning, giving students the opportunity to connect their lessons to practical, hands-on activities. Through art, craft, and design projects, learners explore ideas in creative ways, developing problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation skills related to different subjects. These sessions encourage curiosity and imagination while reinforcing curriculum concepts, helping students gain confidence and apply knowledge to real-life situations.
How We Deliver
Our lessons are conducted live by our experienced and expert educators. We utilise a number of teaching and learning methods and strategies within our timetabled lessons. The learning platform offers all learners the opportunity to participate in continuous learning activities, as well as access to scheduled live lessons.
Class Schedule
SkySCHOOL follows a 5-day week schedule. However, we encourage and promote independent learning from our young learners at an early stage. Live-taught lessons are conducted 3 days a week, and there are 2 days dedicated to independent learning, task completion, and assignment submission. Attendance is compulsory, and educators will mark attendance even on the days independent learning is planned
Class Size
After extensive study, the management has identified that the most effective online knowledge transfer occurs with no more than 12 learners in one session. Hence, learners are arranged by year level, with an optimum number of learners per class. This allows the educator to interact with each learner and provide adequate individual attention and time during lessons. The live taught lessons use high-quality, approved content with age-appropriate, visually pleasing animated Explatorials and carefully selected characters to strengthen each learner’s knowledge. Learners are expected to work on their own after hours and on independent learning days, which will be followed up by the educator in the next live session.
